Security Securing your personal and non-personal information is very important to us. We attempt to provide for the secure transmission of your information from your computer to our servers by utilizing encryption software. However, due to the inherent open nature of the Internet, we can not guarantee that communications between you and Trilegiant Corporation, and Trilegiant Corporation and you, will be free from unauthorized access by third parties, such as hackers. In addition to employing these high-security measures, Identity Protect has undergone a rigorous certification process for Cybertrust Corporation's Web Certification program. This process examined in great detail every aspect of our security precautions, and included an on-site inspection of our facility for physical security and policy, plus a remote assessment of our potential vulnerabilities to web-based attacks. Personal and Non-Personal Information When visiting the Identity Protect Web site (the "Identity Protect Web site") and other Trilegiant Corporation related sites (collectively with the Identity Protect Web site, the "Trilegiant Corporation Web sites"), in order to authenticate your identity and access your credit report from credit bureau databases, register to use certain services, respond to a survey or update your information you may be asked to provide certain personally identifiable information about yourself, such as your name, e-mail address, physical address, telephone number, date of birth, mother's maiden name, Social Security number or credit card number. The personal information that we request is to ensure that you are the only person that can access your credit report and other personal information. We use personal information provided on registration forms to fulfill requests for credit reports and requests for other personal information and to contact you when necessary, such as when your request cannot be processed. Trilegiant Corporation may also use this information to notify consumers about new products or services and special promotions offered by Trilegiant Corporation or any of its affiliates. Please allow up to 10 days for your email to be removed. We may share Personal Information relating to your transactions or experience with us, with our affiliates, Beginning October 1,2008, we will not share any personal information with our affliates for purposes of marketing their products and services unless we are otherwise permitted to do so by law.
We may also request non-personally identifiable information, such as annual income, buying preferences, or your age, also known as demographic and profile data, though this information is optional. We will respond to such written requests within 30 days of following receipt at the e-mail or mailing address stated above. If we receive your request at a different e-mail or mailing address, we will respond within a reasonable period of time, but not to exceed 150 days from the date received. Please note that we are only required to respond to each customer once per calendar year.
At times, some of our advertisers or their ad serving and tracking providers may set cookies when you select their ad banner and some of our content providers or partners may also set cookies when you visit those portions of our site over which they have control. We do not receive the data collected by those cookies.
